Australian Diabetes Society is a society for research, medical practice, and education in diabetes.

International Diabetes Institute

Australian Diabetes in Pregnancy Society is a professional body established to advance clinical and scientific knowledge of diabetes in pregnancy.

Diabetes Outreach program allows access to resources for professional staff development through the unique presentation series, Dealing with Diabetes.

The online facility, www.diabetescounselling.com.au, is the first site dedicated entirely to diabetes counselling.

Don’t Ignore Diabetes a national public awareness campaign called Don't Ignore Diabetes. The campaign will run for three years as part of a National Diabetes Action Plan to increase community awareness and understanding of type 2 diabetes.

Reality Check, an a site maintained by a Melbourne-based group of young people with diabetes, includes a well-frequented online bulletin board and an unique 'chat room' that allows direct informal discussions as well as interactive sessions with experts in the field.

Lift for Life :  Exercise Made Easy
Lift for Life is a strength training program designed specifically for people with type 2 diabetes based on research conducted at Baker IDI Heart and Diabetes Institute. The program was previously conducted by International Diabetes Institute until the merge with the Baker Heart Research Institute to create the newly formed Baker IDI Heart and Diabetes Institute.

Depression and diabetes: resources from beyondblue
 
The beyondblue Depression and diabetes fact sheet is a helpful tool that health professionals can use with patients. The fact sheet provides an overview of the links between depression and diabetes, and information on available treatments and where to get help.
 

The beyondblue guide to the management of depression in primary care has been developed by Professor David Clarke to help GPs assess and diagnose depression and put into place management plans that include evidence-based treatments. The information in the guide is concise and ideal for GPs working in busy practices.

 
Depression and Anxiety with Physical Illness cites 11 articles featuring research and commentary from some of Australia’s leading mental health experts. The studies establish a strong connection between physical illness and mental illness and conclude that treating both conditions improves overall health outcomes.

Australian Diabetes Educators Association provides general information on living with diabetes and covers ‘everyday’ topics like school, work, travel, driving and general health.

Multilingual diabetes information:
Diabetes Australia's Multilingual Internet Resource site and that of the NSW Multicultural Health Communication Service provide printable patient information sheets spanning 18 different languages.
