Chronic Renal Disease
Duration: 90 minutes
Program ID: 508 | Purchase Price: $105.00 (DVD)
Chronic kidney (renal) disease (CKD) is increasing in Australia at the rate of 6% pa. In Australia, currently one out of three people are at risk of developing CKD, one out of seven people have early CKD, and one out of 1400 people have end-stage CKD.
These figures, coupled with a large clinical gap in knowledge and evidence, point to the need a targeted approach to managing CKD. This program examines the continuum of CKD, identifies risk factors and discusses what management plans should be triggered by these risk factors. Primary prevention models for the management of CKD, and treatment strategies across the continuum of disease will be included.
The program also examines what has been learnt from CKD interventions in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations, and how this knowledge can be transferred and applied more broadly.
