Cervical Cancer Screening is Changing: What You Need to Know

Duration: 85 minutes

Program ID: 604 | Purchase Price: $105.00 (DVD)

Cancer of the cervix is one of the few cancers for which there is an effective screening test for the detection of precursors of the disease. This means that most deaths due to cervical cancer are avoidable.

About two million Australian women have a pap test for cervical cancer screening each year. The National Cervical Screening Program aims to reduce morbidity and death from cervical cancer. There is a new paradigm in cervical screening and it is essential that heath professionals understand the changes.

This program focuses on the changes to clinical management outlined in the new NHMRC Guidelines for the Management of Asymptomatic Women with Screen Detected Abnormalities. An expert panel discusses theses changes within the context of General practice, using case studies to highlight the management of women with diverse screen detected abnormalities.
