- Discuss Prof Henry Brodaty's 'Triangular Model of Severity vs Types of Care for Patients with Behavioural and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia' (generally referred to as 'the Brodaty triangle'), which outlines the care needs of the person with dementia.
- Identify factors influencing care and planning for people with dementia including the person's individual circumstances, communication and interaction with carers.
- Discuss the importance of the context of care in caring for a person with dementia and how building design can support this in aged care facilities.
- Discuss national and international research into dementia.
