This program highlights healthy lifestyle choices for members of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community that reflect community awareness, support and engagement to encourage fitness and positive lifestyle behaviours.
The message from the Elder who opens the Indigenous Surfing Championship is very powerful and sends a very important message to all who believe that smoking is an accepted part of aboriginal culture.
The constant references to positive role models, fitness and healthy lifestyle demonstrate an interesting and slightly different emphasis on the need for better habits and lifestyle choices.
