Accreditation

The Rural Health Education Foundation is an accredited producer of professional development programs on the following basis:

  • Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) - two Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points per hour.
  • Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) - one point per hour.
  • Royal College of Nursing Australia (RCNA) - one Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) point per hour toward 3LP.
  • Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO) – one point per hour.
  • Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) - one point per hour.

To comply with accreditation requirements, each person should complete an evaluation form. See further details below.

Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) Accreditation

All Foundation-produced programs are accredited by the Royal Australian College General Practitioners (RACGP) in the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) category under the Quality Assurance and Continuing Education Program for the 2008-2010 triennium.

RACGP members may receive point allocation of two points/hour. The Rural Health Education Foundation will collate and submit your forms for accreditation.

Quality assurance is important to your QA&CPD Program.  The RACGP appreciates feedback regarding the education activities that you have participated in that have been accredited by the RACGP QA&CPD program. Click here (PDF 72KB) to fill out a GP Adverse Experience Form.

ACRRM logoAustralian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) Accreditation

All Foundation-produced programs are accredited by the ACRRM Professional Development Program.

The broadcasts attract 1 point per hour as a Continuing Medical Education (CME) activity. The Rural Health Education Foundation will collate and submit your forms for accreditation.

RCNA logoRoyal College of Nursing Australia (RCNA) Endorsement

All Rural Health Education Foundation-produced programs are endorsed by the RCNA in accordance with their endorsement criteria, and have associated Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) points toward 3LP.

3LP is a Life Long Learning program designed to encourage nurses to undertake continuing professional development throughout their careers using a planned approach.

CNE points allocated by the RCNA are one point being awarded per hour of education.

Pharmaceutial Society of Australia (PSA)

By completing the evalutaion forms the Foundation will supply a certificate of participation which pharmacists can use to apply directly to the Pharmaceutical Society Australia (PSA) for CPD points on a ‘self- record’ basis in accordance with PSA’s criteria. Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO)

RANZCO approves the Foundation’s activity: Seeing into Old Age: Glaucoma and Macular Degeneration as a Level 1 CPD activity for their Fellows.  The activity will attract 1 CPD point.  To ensure that members who attend or watch the activity can claim their CPD points they must complete the evaluation form related to this activity.

APA logoAustralian Physiotherapy Association (APA) Endorsement

All Foundation-produced programs are endorsed by the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) in accordance with their Continuing Professional Development guidelines.

APA members receive one CPD point per hour of professional development activity.

Other Professional Organisations

A number of other professional organisations accept Rural Health Education Foundation programs for professional development.

Please contact your organisation to determine if Foundation programs can be accredited in your profession.
