The Rural Health Education Foundation offers you the opportunity to access our health and medical education television programs in a number of ways. This webpage outlines the functions of the various buttons on the right hand side of a program page. These buttons enable you to view, listen, evaluate or purchase a Foundation program.
Satellite Network
Foundation programs are broadcast across the Foundation’s national satellite network of more than 660 recieving sites. See the viewing sites webpage for a viewing site in your state or territory.
Webcast
The Foundation often produces its programs as a live “webcast” and simultaneously broadcasts the program via satellite. A webcast is a live presentation that you can view and interact with through your computer. You can pose questions to the panel and participate in live polls.
To view the webcast you will be asked to log in to the Foundation’s website and then click on the Live Webcast button from the relevant program page. To log in you will need to already be registered with the Foundation. If you are not registered you will need to register (see instructions listed below). There is no cost to register with the Rural Health Education Foundation.
View Hi Resolution or Low Resolution Video Streaming
Most programs on this website are offered as web-streamed video files through the Internet. These are not files which can be downloaded to keep on your computer. If you wish to have your own copy of the program you can purchase a DVD copy from the Foundation by adding it to the “Cart” (see below).
There are two different quality levels of web-streamed files.
Choose view high resolution if you have broadband or a fast Internet connection.
Choose view low resolution if you have dialup or a slow internet connection.
By clicking on either view high res or view low res the video will open in a new window and play automatically.
