The Rural Health Education Foundation offers you the opportunity to access our health and medical education television programs in a number of ways. This webpage outlines the functions of the various buttons on the right hand side of a program page. These buttons enable you to view, listen, evaluate or purchase a Foundation program.
Satellite Network
Foundation programs are broadcast across the Foundation’s national satellite network of more than 670 receiving sites. See the viewing sites webpage for a viewing site in your state or territory.
Webcast
The Foundation occasionally produces its programs as a live “webcast” and simultaneously broadcasts the program via satellite. A webcast is a live presentation that you can view and interact with the panellists through your computer. You can pose questions to the panel and participate in live polls. The webcast is recorded and remains available to view afterwards.
To view the live webcast, click on the ‘webcast‘ button from the relevant program page. You will be required to register with a valid email address. An email will be sent to you with a link to the webcast. To view the webcast click link within the email.
Webcasts are recorded and are available to view on-demand at a later stage. Click the ‘webcast’ button and register your details and you will be taken directly to the webcast area where you can view the recorded webcast.
There is no cost to view the webcast or online videos of Rural Health Education Foundation programs.
View Hi Resolution or Low Resolution Video Online
Most programs on this website are offered as video files that can be streamed through the Internet. These are not files which can be downloaded to keep on your computer. If you wish to have your own copy of the program you can purchase a DVD copy from the Foundation by clicking ‘add to cart” (see below).
There are two different quality levels of video files.
Choose ‘view high res’ if you have broadband or a fast Internet connection.
Choose ‘view low res’ if you have dialup or a slow internet connection.
By clicking on either ‘view high res‘ or ‘view low res‘ the video will open in a new window and play automatically.
There is no cost to view the online videos of Rural Health Education Foundation programs.
