Viewing and Listening Help

The Rural Health Education Foundation offers you a number of ways to view our health and medical education TV programs. There is no cost to view the live Foundation’s programs. DVDs of recorded Foundation programs can be purchased.

Satellite TV

Foundation programs can be viewed at one of the Foundation’s 670 satellite receiving sites across Australia.  See the Satellite Vewing Sites webpage to locate a viewing site in your local area.

From the 21st May, Foundation programs as well as other health education information and programs, will be viewable on VAST (Viewer Access Satellite Television).  There are currently 70,000 homes that are accessing VAST. If you would like information on VAST and how to access it, visit the official government website https://www.myvast.com.au/ 

Online Webcast

The Foundation occasionally produces its live programs as a simultaneous “online webcast”. 

A webcast is a live presentation that you can view and interact with the panellists through your computer.  You can pose questions to the panel and participate in live polls.

To view the live webcast, click on the ‘webcast’ button on the right hand side of the relevant program webpage.  You will be required to register with a valid email address. An email will be sent to you with a link to the webcast. To view the webcast click link within the email.

Webcasts are recorded and are available to view on-demand at a later stage. Click the ‘webcast’ button and register your details and you will be taken directly to the webcast area where you can view the recorded webcast.

There is no cost to view the webcast or online videos of Rural Health Education Foundation programs.

Online Video

Most programs on this website are offered as video files that can be streamed through the Internet.  These are not files which can be downloaded to keep on your computer.  If you wish to have your own copy of the program you can purchase a DVD copy from the Foundation by clicking ‘add to cart” (see below).

Click the ‘view video’ button on the right hand side of the program webpage. Most videos include ‘closed captions’.

There is no cost to view the online videos of Rural Health Education Foundation programs.

Listen to Podcast

Podcasts are audio files of Foundation programs.  Click ‘listen to podcast‘ button on the right-hand side to listen directly on your computer.  Note there are no visuals for podcasts.

Download Podcast

Podcasts are audio files of Foundation programs.  Click the ‘download podcast‘ button on the right-hand side to save and play the audio file on your computer or to transfer to another device.  Note there are no visuals for podcasts.

DVD

You can obtain a DVD copy of most Foundation programs. 

Click on the ‘add to cart‘ button on the right-hand side of the program webpage to add a program to your shopping cart. To view items in your shopping cart or to complete your purchase click ‘Check Out’ on the left hand side of the screen under Search Website.

Note: You need to be registered and logged in to order a program. (see instructions below)

Learning Guides

The Foundation also digitally publishes a number of learning guides that accompany and complement select programs.  The Learning Guides are supplied with purchased DVDs.

Evaluation – Professional Development

CPD or Professional Development points are available for Foundation programs. See our Accreditation section which outlines which membership groups accredit or endorse our programs.

After viewing or listening to a Foundation program complete the online evaluation form by clicking the ‘evaluate‘ button on the right-hand side of the program webpage and press submit.  Alternatively you can print a PDF evaluation form from the evaluation webpage and post or fax your evaluation form.

You will be emailed or posted a Certificate of Participation.

Note: You need to be registered and logged in to complete an online evaluation form. (see instructions below)

User Registration

To order DVDs or to submit CPD online evaluation forms you need to be registered with the Rural Health Education Foundation’s website (and logged in).

Once registered you need only enter the registered email address and password you submitted when registering in order to log in. It is not recommended you use a ‘secure’ password that you may use for email accounts or internet banking.

If you have forgotten your password click forgotton password and enter your email address for your password to be automatically sent to you.
