Foundation featured in Adelaide Advertiser

May 31, 2010

The Rural Health Education Foundation was featured in an article in the Saturday May 29, 2010 edition of the Adelaide Advertiser.  Foundation CEO Don Perlgut was interviewed about how the Foundation’s rural health satellite network - and the Foundation’s ability to reach more than 50,000 health professionals each year - is under threat because of planned changes to rural and remote satellite television, with the nation-wide “switchover” to digital TV.  A new digital satellite television platform will soon become operational for rural and remote Australia and the Foundation requires access to this new platform, Mr. Perlgut said.  Required equipment, including new set-top boxes, would require additional funding of at least $300,000.
