Foundation thanks June Andrew on Channel 9’s Random Acts of Kindness

July 31, 2009

The Rural Health Education Foundation was more than pleased to offer its assistance to Channel 9’s Random Acts of Kindness program on Sunday 26th July 2009. As presenter, Scott Cam paid a surprise visit to June Andrew in the remote town of Marree in South Australia to offer her a random act of kindness. He presented her with a number of generous gifts including gifts from the Foundation.

Scott lists her roles over the past 25 years, which include being the town’s doctor, nurse, ambulance driver and dentist – even the town vet – in her long-standing role as resident registered nurse at the Marree Health Service.  To see an introduction of the episode and why June is so deserving of this act click here.

The Foundation was happy to assist in offering a satellite dish to receive ongoing professional development from the Foundation as well as two years of Foundation professional development DVDs.
