Foundation Director to participate in the Australia 2020 Summit
April 2, 2008Ms Sabina Knight, one of the Rural Health Education Foundation’s Board of Directors, will participate in the Australia 2020 Summit, which takes place in Canberra on April 19th and 20th, 2008, in the long-term national health strategy group. Sabina Knight is a remote area nurse and Senior Lecturer, Remote Health Practice & CRANA Research Fellow, Acting Head of Remote Health Practice and Remote Health Management programs with the Centre for Remote Health in Alice Springs. She joined the Foundation’s Board of Directors in February 2008, and is also a member of the National Health and Hospitals Reform Commission.
Welcoming Sabina’s participation, Foundation Chair Dr Brian Bowring said: “The Rural Health Education Foundation is pleased that one of our seven board of directors has the opportunity to participate directly in this summit visioning the future of Australia. She will bring an important remote and rural health perspective to the eminent gathering.”
Other participants in the health strategy group include a number of participants in the Foundation’s television programs: Dr Fiona Wood, Professor Cindy Shannon, Dr Ngaire J Brown, Dr Ian Cameron, Professor Ian Hickie, Associate Professor Paul Torzillo and Ms Kate Carnell.
