Foundation Deputy CEO to present at International Rural Health conference in Nigeria

Amanda Little, Deputy CEO and Director of Education of the Rural Health Education Foundation, will present at the 8th WONCA World Rural Health Conference in Nigeria, Africa in February 2008.

Amanda’s presentation, Professional Development at a Distance: the Influence of Remote Education in Practice Change, is based on her research on assessing the effectiveness of professional development activities delivered remotely to health professionals in relation to self reported change in practice.  The Rural Health Education Foundation’s television professional development activities are delivered via satellite television, web-streaming and audio pod-casting as well as DVD/video and other television services.

About Amanda Little

Amanda Little is a registered nurse with extensive experience in emergency medicine, rural nursing and clinical teaching.  She is also a former Lecturer in Nursing at the University of Canberra.  She leads the Foundation’s Program Development team and is responsible for ensuring the currency and relevance of the Foundation’s programs for health and medical practitioners.Image from WONCA 2008 - click to view

About the 8th WONCA World Rural Conference

The theme of the 8th WONCA World Rural Conference, Frontline Medicine - from Disasters to Daily Care, was carefully chosen to reflect the ongoing focus on disasters and the development of Rural Family Medicine worldwide as apart of their input into the millennium development goals.

WONCA (World Organization of Family Doctors) will also be hosting an Asia Pacific regional conference which will be held in conjunction with the RACGP Scientific Convention, Melbourne in October 2008.
