Foundation CEO reviews the work of Nicholas Rothwell

August 16, 2007

Rural Health Education Foundation CEO Don Perlgut has published a review of the writings of Nicholas Rothwell, who provides unique reporting and analysis of issues facing those living in northern and remote Australia.

Nicholas, a Darwin-based journalist with The Australian, has produced many works dealing with remote Australia, including the book Another Country, which Don describes as part auto-biography, part journalism, part travel writing and part philosophical observations on landscapes and people of northern Australia.

Don discovered Rothwell’s body of work only recently, and is now a convert.  His detailed analysis appears in the Reviews section of the Foundation’s website, which began with a critique of the 2006 SBS TV series Remote Area Nurse.

The Reviews section also includes coverage of Far From Care, the 2006 ABC TV Four Corners program, and Crossing the Line, a documentary produced in 2005 about two young medical students from the University of Tasmania undertaking clinical placements in their fourth year of study.
