Foundation Board Member appointed Flinders University Dean of Medicine

Professor Paul Worley, board member of the Rural Health Education Foundation and one of the pioneers of Flinders University’s award-winning rural medical education program, has been appointed Dean of Flinders University’s School of Medicine.

Photo of Professor Paul WorleyBefore being appointed Director of the Rural Clinical School in 2001, Professor Worley was a senior lecturer in the Department of General Practice. In 2006, he received an “SA Great” Award for his leadership in rural medical education.

Professor Worley is a past Academic Director on the Board of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) and the Executive Chair of the Rural and Remote Area Placement Program.

In 2001, he was appointed Professor and Director for the Flinders University Rural Clinical School and Editor-in-Chief of Rural and Remote Health, the International Journal of Rural and Remote Health Research, Education, Practice and Policy.

Professor Worley takes over from Professor Lindon Wing, who is retiring and has held the post since 1998.
