Rural Health Education Foundation appoints Deputy CEO
October 23, 2006The Rural Health Education Foundation has appointed Amanda Little as Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Director of Education, effective from 18 October 2006.
Amanda originally joined the Rural Health Education Foundation’s staff in August 2004 as the Head of Program Development.
“Since Amanda joined the Foundation, she has been instrumental in our growth and the consolidation of the Foundation’s education activities,” said Foundation CEO Don Perlgut, announcing the appointment.
“This has seen the Foundation undertake much more complex educational projects and more detailed program evaluation and analysis. She also brings a strong clinical background to our health and medical education, and has grown the educational team substantially.”
Program development highlights
Highlights of Amanda’s program development work for the Foundation include the Aboriginal health documentary series of Start Strong, Grow Strong and Keep Safe, and other highly regarded programs including Paediatric Gastroenteritis, Lung Cancer, Chronic Renal Disease, Psychiatric Emergencies, Postnatal Depression, Burn Injury: Rural Perspectives and Type 1 Diabetes.
She has also represented the Foundation at a number of national and international conferences.
Qualifications
Amanda is a registered nurse with extensive experience in emergency medicine and rural nursing. She is also a former Lecturer in Nursing at the University of Canberra (from which she holds a Masters degree in Nursing).
