Subsidies available for organisations to join Foundation satellite network
August 8, 2006The Foundation is pleased to announce that subsidies are again available to rural and remote health and medical organisations that wish to join the Foundation’s satellite network. The funding has been provided by the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing.
Relevant organisations are encouraged to apply.
The Rural Health Education Foundation now has more than 600 satellite receiving sites for its health and medical professional development television programs.
The network has expanded by installing satellite dishes in some of Australia’s most remote communities.
The landmark 600th receiving site is at the Wuchopperen Health Service located in Cairns. This community-controlled organisation delivers primary health care services to Aboriginal people and Torres Strait Islanders residing and visiting the Cairns and Atherton Tablelands regions.
