Audio podcasts of recent Foundation programs now ready for download

March 8, 2006

Audio podcasts of the most recent Rural Health Education Foundation programs are now available for download onto your computer - ready for listening at any time.

After downloading the mp3 audio file of a specific program, such as Burn Injury: Rural Perspectives, you can listen to the program file on your computer, using audio playback software such as Windows Media Player or iTunes.

You can also transfer the mp3 file from your computer to a portable digital audio player, such as an iPod, for listening away from your desk.

Podcasts of Foundation programs are provided free of charge.

Launching the new initiative, Rural Health Education Foundation CEO Don Perlgut stressed the portability of the audio downloads. “Our new podcasting service extends our educational reach beyond the satellite TV and beyond the computer, enabling rural and remote health professionals to listen to our programs on their digital audio players at work, at home, or in transit - wherever and whenever it suits them.” he said.

The first two podcasts available are for the Burn Injury: Rural Perspectives and Breast Cancer: Investigation and Management of a New Breast Symptom programs.

An audio podcast of Chronic Pain: The Invisible Epidemic will soon be available, followed by podcasts of all future Foundation programs within 48 hours of their initial broadcast.

See our podcasts page for more information.

The Rural Health Education Foundation will continue to provide online video webstreaming of its programs.
