Program on cardiovascular health for baby boomers to air November 29
November 5, 2005They changed the world. Now they’re about to change your practice.
The Baby Boomers, born between 1946 and 1964 - the generation that claimed they “wouldn’t trust anyone over thirty” - is now approaching retirement.
And they are likely to bring some unique healthcare challenges with them.
The Merck Sharp & Dohme University Program was designed by General Practitioners for General Practitioners to look at the healthcare needs of Baby Boomers, and it ran in parallel with the Professional Pharmacy Education Program which also looked at the health needs of Baby Boomers.
The cardiovascular health section of these programs has now been tailored into a satellite television program for rural and remote health practitioners.
The Rural Health Education Foundation will broadcast Baby Boomers - Getting to the HEART of the Matter on 29 November 2005.
The 90 minute program will be broadcast across the Foundation’s national satellite network at 8pm Sydney time on Tuesday 29 November, and again at 1.30pm on Friday 2 December.
A central aim of the program is to assist General Practitioners to learn how to identify at-risk patients, with an emphasis on preventive medicine.
The program is funded by an unrestricted educational grant from Merck Sharp & Dohme (Australia) Pty Ltd.
