Foundation receives award from Suicide Prevention Australia
September 27, 2005Suicide Prevention Australia recognises Rural Health Education Foundation’s valuable contribution to suicide prevention in Australia by awarding them with a Certificate of Commendation in the 2005 LIFE Awards.
The LIFE Awards were established by SPA in 2004 to recognise and honour the exceptional work of individuals and organisations involved in the field of suicide prevention. Various groups were called upon to enter nominations within the five categories. The Rural Health Education Foundation was awarded Commended under the category of Media. This award recognises an organisation or individual within the field of media who has assisted or provided effective and accurate delivery of information on suicide and suicide prevention and through that reporting assisted in progressing the education and awareness in suicide prevention.
The Rural Health Education Foundation is very pleased to be recognised in its role as a leading rural health education organisation and in particular its ongoing role in education in suicide prevention. Three key programs produced and broadcast nationally by the Foundation over the last few years are outlined below. The programs can be viewed online via webstreaming at no cost or can be purchased on VHS Video from the Foundation.
