Foundation’s Alcohol program first to be released on DVD
March 11, 2005Prevention and Treatment of Alcohol Problems is the first Rural Health Education Foundation program to be released for sale on DVD.
Most Foundation programs can be purchased on VHS video, and occasionally on CD-ROM, but the Alcohol program is the first to made available in the increasingly popular DVD format.

About the program
First broadcast on the Foundation’s satellite network on Tuesday 16 March 2004, the program provides an overview of the NHMRC Australian Alcohol Guidelines, as well as:
- Gives viewers information on current patterns of alcohol consumption across different gender, age and regional populations in Australia, and also the prevalence of alcohol problems.
- Provides an update on research findings on the risks and benefits of alcohol consumption.
- Details screening and assessment techniques for people with drinking problems, or considered at risk of developing drinking problems.
