Rural Health Education Foundation releases new 2004 timetable
December 19, 2003The Rural Health Education Foundation has today released its preliminary timetable for satellite television broadcasts for the period February to June 2004.
Announcing the timetable, CEO Don Perlgut said “We are continuing the Rural Health Education Foundation’s tradition of broadcasting our important and groundbreaking continuing professional development and medical education programs on Tuesday nights, with repeats on Friday afternoons. We are also pleased to be able to host medical education broadcasts from the Western Australian Centre for Rural and Remote Medicine and other professional organisations. Aside from General Practitioners, most of our broadcasts are appropriate for nurses, pharmacists and other health professionals in rural Australia.”
During the first half of 2004, the Foundation’s programs will include a program on general practice nursing, one on the role of the General Practitioner in the prevention and treatment of alcohol problems, chronic disease management, Aboriginal health workers and chronic disease, primary care networks, mental health issues for young people and palliative care for Aboriginal people.
The Foundation will also rebroadcast last year’s program on HIV, Hepatitis C and sexual health issues for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
