Special Parkinson’s broadcast set for September 10
August 26, 2003As part of Parkinson’s Awareness Week (7th to 13th September), the Rural Health Education Foundation’s satellite network will carry a special program entitled “Living With Parkinsons”, a 90-minute live broadcast produced by Victorian Schools’ Television for Parkinsons Victoria.
The program will screen on Wednesday September 10th at 7.00pm (AEST) on satellite decoder channel 5, and has specifically been produced for families, carers, medical staff and sufferers of the disease.
The live and interactive program will provide opportunities for viewers to hear about the latest research data, learn about the needs and aspirations of people with the disease, the prognosis and the quality of life which sufferers should expect and generally raise awareness in the broader community.
It will also feature a pre-recorded introduction from John Cleese and special messages from Michael J. Fox and Mohammed Ali.
